PhD Student

PhD candidate in Civil Engineering at CERIS - Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability, Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, Portugal since September 2020.

Integrated Master's Degree in Civil Engineering - Specialization Area on Construction at FCTUC - University of Coimbra (Portugal, 2013). Worked as a technician of inspection and diagnosis of non-structural and structural pathologies in buildings, as a technician of Portuguese National System for Energy and Indoor Air Quality Certification of Buildings (SCE) and as a budgetist, preparer and construction assistant of buildings rehabilitation, before starting to work as a research fellow at IST - University of Lisbon in January 2020.

The PhD research aims to develop cementitious composites with rice husk incorporation, namely coating mortars and non-structural concrete solutions, with high thermal, acoustic and environmental performance. This research is a consequence of my participation in an R&TD Project in Co-Promotion (RiceHUSK+ - POCI-01-0247-FEDER-039577-LISBOA-01-0247-FEDER-39577), where IST - University of Lisbon, Itecons and Farcimar – Soluções em Pré-Fabricados de Betão, S.A. collaborate to develop acoustic barriers and multilayer panels with rice husk incorporation.
